Since the 16th century, the Allegrini family has played an outsized role in the history of Italy’s Fumane and Valpolicella Classica. Over the centuries, the family has painstakingly handed down its customs and knowledge of classic wine making, which has resulted in some truly extraordinary vintages. Beginning in the 1960s, Giovanni Allegrini transformed Valpolicella, blending ancient methods with modern viniculture. Now, Francesco, Giovanni Jr., Matteo and Silvia continue that storied legacy.
Joining us to share his in-depth knowledge of Allegrini wines is Charlie Lassor, CS, CSW, Lux Wines’ Senior Market Development Manager for North and South Carolina.
